I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm a huge fan of the Kingdom Hearts series. I haven't played 358/2 Days yet, but the scores I've see on it so far are pretty moderate to good and the graphics are awesome for a DS game. But all that it beside the topic. Birth By Sleep is the most recent to-be released game in the series, and right now, it's looking pretty good. It's for the PSP, so the graphics look just about as good as they would on the PS2. The main enemy will be called the "Unversed", though I don't know what that means... But the three main characters are Ventus (Ven), Terra, and Aqua. They each have their own story, and oddly enough Ven bears a striking resemblance to Roxas. The game isn't set to be released until January 9, 2010 in Japan and later on in the year here in the U.S.

What do you think about the game?

Don't have a PSP, can't play it. Although I do hope KH3 comes into existence at some point.

Kingdom Hearts kinda jumped the shark at the end of KH2. 358/2 looked ok, but I still don't think it's the kind of game the DS is made for. I read the plot for it online, and it was pretty bad, and largely suffers the same problem that Chain of Memories had, which is, since it's not one of the "main" games, they don't want the events of the game to have any major impact on the plot of the later games. The only new information the game provides pertains to things that are no longer important when KH2 starts, and that kills my desire to play it.
Birth By Sleep looks good, though. The idea that it's a new cast of both heroes and villains is a really nice change of pace, and from what I've seen of the gameplay, it looks like it will fit somewhere between Chain of Memories and Crisis Core FF7, and I absolutely loved the way both of those games played.

If you like KH, play Days. I liked it a whole lot, even if I'm not the biggest fan of the Kingdom Hearts series. Hell, it was enough to change my Zelos avatar to a Roxas one.

That's for another topic though, I haven't got a clue about BBS and since I don't have a PSP (and I'm not buying one just to play a single game) I haven't really bothered to read up about it. <-<

With the names of the protagonists as such, I'd almost bet money there's an antihero somewhere in there named Ignis. Or Flamma. Or something.

That said, I'm kinda missing the KH series right now. I ought to play moar.

I can't wait for a Kingdom Hearts game that's relevant to the plot and doesn't have a wanky subtitle.

Started playing it a little while ago. Not too bad, the camera controls took getting used to but it's not horrible. The story is more of the same boring Roxas crap that wasn't interesting the first time. I like the action and the Megaman Battle Network-esque upgrade system though, I could spend hours tinkering with various customization options.

Topic revival: Birth by Sleep is out in Japan. Anyone play it? Read about it? Anyone care to discuss the spoilers floating around? Any psp modders get their game to work yet? I'm still downloading it, but I hear even the latest GEN can't get past the encryption.

Won't run yet. Like I'd figured, it's encrypted. Gotta wait for a patch. :(

Wtf is with kingdom hearts right now?

I miss the old characters, just disney ones. Not some stupid ass back story about the darkness and some emo ass evil guy. Who cares? I thought it was signature, now it's just turning into a hack and slash.

bawwww they changed it now it sucks

They can only have you re-enact the stories of a disney movie so many times before it gets stale. The overarching story that the main characters are a part of is genuinely interesting, so they're choosing to make that a bit deeper rather than "lol let's help Jack save Halloween town for the 6th time"
