Hey, guys. Little update here, with a rumor going around about the contents of September's Nintendo Power. Here's what they're saying is confirmed in this issue:

-Princess Zelda will, in fact, return in Skyward Sword. They have not mentioned where or how, but she will be in the game in one way or another.

-The Zelda team has “no comment” about Ganon. I feel if Ganon were to not be appearing in the game, they would say he wouldn't be in the game. So expect our fuzzy friend to find his way to the title, presumably without Ganondorf.

-The new Beetle item will possibly be used for racing challenges.

-Voice acting will not start a new tradition in the Zelda series through Skyward Sword, so too bad for those of you hoping to see some voiced conversations with NPCs.

-Some people have been worrying that Miyamoto was going to be "upending the tea table" as I believe Aonuma himself mentioned, and prolong the release date even further back. So as of right now, Skyward Sword may still be leaning on the edge of a 2010/2011 date.

Will we see 2010 release date for Skyward Sword? Stay tuned to find out!

So if Ganon exists before Ganondorf...hm...we'll find out how the two became one?

Boo. Welcome to the 21st century, Nintendo. Come on.

Does it really say this in Nintendo Power? Miyamoto himself said 2011 for Skyward Sword, I don't know why they'd hint otherwise.

I can't see them going back to a 2010 release date after Miyamoto himself said it was delayed at E3.

As for Ganon appearing; that could be interesting if we learn he's some kind of demon related to the Triforce. Perhaps he binds himself to Ganondorf later?

Can someone explain to me the difference between Ganon and Ganondorf?

Also, what are NPCs and voiced conversations?

Wow, I feel like a noob in this thread.

Ganon is the huge pig-monster that Ganondorf turns into at the end of OoT, as well as the boss at the end of several other Zelda games. Ganondorf is the "human" part of the duo.

NPCs stands for "non-playable characters", i.e. everyone but Link. So fans were hoping that Nintendo would opt to have voice acting for these characters while having Link remain silent.

Yeah, cause, y'know, it is the 21st century and even games like Star Fox 64 had voice acting...

I think I would rather no voice acting over Skyward Sword taking any longer to come out.

...I'd prefer a later release date if we could have voice acting, to be honest.

Either way, I've always been scared of voice acting in Zelda. What if they don't sound like they do in my head, WHAT THEN?!

I'm scared of voice acting to. If any of you have ever played Tales of Symphonia and heard Colette... *shudder* It's too risky.

I wouldn't mind it in cutscenes, but in random conversations it'd suck. I read pretty fast so in games that have it I'm either forced to listen to everything they say, or cut them off mid-sentence by ending the conversation. It's even more annoying when I finish and walk away and they're still talking in the background.

^I agree, in cutscenes it wouldn't be that bad. I don't actually want it, but if they had to put it in, the cutscenes would be the place to do it.

It really irritated me in TP when their mouths moved with nothing coming out. That was when I decided it's time for full voice acting.

No, it won't ruin the series, and no, Link still won't talk, so I have no idea what everyone's objection to it is.

I didn't like Colette, but the voice acting wasn't really the reason for it.

Having Robin from Teen Titans as Lloyd is awesome.

Not having the same VA for Lloyd in the sequel is not awesome.

Fffuuu when I realized that, I couldn't watch Teen Titans without expecting Robin to bust out "Demon Fang!" ><

It took me forever to realize. When I first played it, I knew I had heard the name before, but one day I just happened to watch Teen Titans right after playing ToS. Brain asploded.
