This has got me wondering... For those who ARE left handed... Do you hold the Wiimote in your right hand and Nunchuck in the left? Or vice versa?

Ok then. If you still play the Wii with the Wiimote in your right hand... Won't playing Skyward Sword with the Wiimote in your left hand be even more weird? I mean, you're already used to playing Wii with the Wiimote in your right hand... <_<;

But the feel of swinging a sword, or throwing a bomb is something we would do with our left hand, if we ever got the chance of doing cool stuff like that.

He's right. I noticed it was hard to hold the Wiimote in my left hand while Link was holding the sword in his right. You want him to follow your actions, so if you swung the Wiimote a certain way, he wouldn't swing it the other. It's especially hard for those hidden skill moves. I have to hold the Wiimote in my right hand, but I don't like it. It feels weird.

So... you're saying that the solution for this would be an option to make Link right or left handed? The gamer could choose which one they wanted?

I'm not familiar with game programming at all, dunno how/if that would work out.

Sounds like you're screwed.

To make Link right handed for the wii release of TP they had to completely flip the gamecube version. Like the map was backwards and stuff. I don't think they'll put an option in if it requires a change that big.

They also released TP twice after flipping it. They had to adapt it for Wii, too. It's not that big just to mirror it. At least they don't have to do all of the adaptations.

Aonuma or Miyamoto said that making a left handed option would be too hard. I remember watching a video somewhere or reading an interview. Sorry, but I can't find the source. But, they said that making a left handed option would be like making another whole new game.

It really wouldn't. Adding it in at a late stage of development could cause issues, but if it's planned from the start it wouldn't be that much extra work.

Either way, it's not happening, so it's a moot point.

I would love if Link went back to being left handed. When my friend told me about his right handedness in Twilight Princess. I was just, Ugh! Really? Why not just keep him left handed? What's the big deal?
If anything having to control his sword with the left hand would make the game more difficult for right handed players and in Twilight Princess's case, that would be an improvement. Twilight Princess seemed way too easy. Anyway, for the sake of tradition and the fact that it makes him stand out, I'm all for a left handed Link again.

There's difficult-but-fun and there's annoying-difficult. Sucky controls make a game annoying-difficult, which is the wrong kind of difficulty.

Yeah, a game being harder because of poor controls is a game I don't want to play.

I've never met a lefty who holds the Wiimote in their left hand and the Nunchuk in the right.

Every other game controller has the analog stick on the left, so they're used to it.
