Well I can manage to write calligraphy so then I can write with my left hand.

I think for a while, Mario was a canonical lefty alongside Link, because Miyamoto also happens to be left handed.

Technically Samus is a lefty, because her right arm is a freakin' cannon...While in the suit at least. (I know I'm probably wrong about her being a lefty. >_<)

I think ambidexterity is more common than left-handedness, actually. Though that might come from botched studies where people just say they're ambi because they've practiced doing stuff in their off hand.

Samus is forced to use her left hand for any normal functions while in the Power Suit (see: any game where she types), but actually, all the Mega Men are actually ambidextrous because they manifest their gun on whichever hand they feel comfortable using at the time.

Which is Capcom retcon for "Well, we were too lazy to sprite him shooting with one hand in both directions, so that's the reason he can shoot with both his right and left hands." And I'm pretty sure it works that way for every character except Zero, whose sprites I don't think are mirrored, though I could be wrong.

Practice makes perfect. I'm tying to learn to use my right hand, incase something happens to my left hand.
Note, which hand you use isn't just a matter of practice. I've heard that some schools used to try to force lefties to become righties when learning to write, and it just didn't work. Possibly with disastrous results, I don't remember.

Thank God they don't force my brother or other lefties to be a righty.

I've noticed the main hero of Monster Hunter Tri is a lefty. At least with sword and shield.

That's not true. Miyamoto mentioned in an interview that there will be no left-handed option.

People have been using their left hands to manipulate the joystick and their right hands to the use the buttons for ages. If your off-hand dexterity is so bad that you can't move your hand in certain general directions while holding the Wiimote, you shouldn't be playing video games anyway.

Besides, I doubt holding the Wiimote in your left hand would change much. His sword will still move left if you move your hand left; the sensor bar doesn't care.

The game must work fine for lefties, considering he's a southpaw himself.

On second thought, we've seen him play Skyward Sword, so maybe not...

I actually saw another lefty try it with some complications, but it really seems that the majority of this ones issues were that he tried to play it like TP.

His left-handedness is something that identifies him as the character he is. It's like taking away his tunic or the Master Sword.

what

Isn't Miyamoto ambidextrous? I don't think he cares too much either way.

I think he favors his left, though.

I've never heard that he was ambidextrous, but even if he is, he definitely favours his left hand, like El mentioned.

I've heard conflicting reports saying he's ambidextrous favoring his left and a full-out lefty.
