Ohoho, thanks CD~
Ok, update. So I'm working on my intro to Environmental Design homework right now, and our assignment is to describe in less than 200 words a place/room that has made us feel anxiety/dread and another 200-ish words to describe one that made us feel joy/contentment, so I started writing the fear/dread one and kind of liked it, so here it is. "The Kitchen" (note, this was done in like 15 minutes, mistakes are a-plenty and it's not exactly organized or anything, but whatevs). Also, when I write my joy one, if I like it, I might post it, too.
"The kitchen is an area of absolute horror. Animals, already butchered are cleaved into even smaller, bloodier, messier pieces, then roasted in a flame, fried in oil, or cooked in boiling hot water. Anything uneaten is left to freeze for days or weeks, or even perhaps years, forgotten in the abyss of other partially consumed meals. Knives, pots, pans, blenders make you feel that you can be just as those butchered animals at any moment. And if you get past this horror, the stainless steel faucet, microwave, stove, ideal for leaving no trace of the slaughtered livestock, past the shudder that runs through your spine as you touch the cold marble countertop; what remains is temptation. Temptation to gorge yourself upon a char-broiled carcass, an unfertilized ovum which (a potential life form), or countless unpronounceable chemicals. This temptation leads us to balloon out, to become gelatinous mounds of flesh, bone, and lard; we know deep down that this room is horrific, yet we linger there, our heads in the cold box, staring at the eerie light, reflecting off of the blades on the counter, wondering what else we might stuff into our face today."
